PTSD and Functional Medicine in Consciousness
The preponderance of people suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is greater today than ever, and from so many varied sources. Recent statistics state that one in five people in the U.S. suffer from depression and the number of people with PTSD is rising from these many influences.
Traditional Functional Medicine seeks initially to alleviate the symptoms of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) with the goal of getting to the root of the issue for resolution. This can only take the alleviation so far, because it does not address the consciousness of the individual on only a behavioral, emotional or medical baseline.
Integral holistic health merges the mind-body-spirit, accessing the consciousness of the root issue that caused the PTSD in the first place, is the goal to decouple severe emotional, mental and physiological effects from initial PTSD event(s) as a matter of attachment.
[1]Integral Health modality seeks to determine and resolve PTSD from the aspect of all is energy and information and is not limited to time or space. This is the era that we are just now really coming into a higher level of awareness of the intersection of consciousness and dis-ease with the rapid merging of Integral Health in all areas of healing.
Accessing the attachment to the issue is more than re-living the memory or practicing positive living techniques. It is the access to the consciousness, the beliefs and reactions, at the level of the spiritual being that then negates and neutralizes the effects of the experience.
As a medical intuitive, energy medicine practitioner/teacher and spiritual counselor for over 30 years, I prefer to look at this as PTSI (Post Traumatic Stress Injury) instead of “Disorder.” That is, that all is consciousness, and the word “injury” refers to that which can be healed. We are all conscious beings that have a spiritual origin, holding our physical presence in space/time.
I know that premise is still difficult to describe, must less to subscribe to, that we are spiritual beings experiencing a physical existence. As we continue to embrace this era of inner transformation that was predicted by ancient cultures, science and institutions like the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), are constantly engaged in the science of verifying the existence of what are called “subtle” energies (existing beyond the limit of space and time).
This is no longer rainbows and unicorns or junk science. This is hard science, but even that is not enough to shift the consciousness that is attached to the PTSI. It is the inner realization of the person suffering from PTSI that liberates them from the attachment, either by a qualifies practitioner or can be by the person themselves engaging in safe spiritual practices. Personal practices may either have a positive effect or cause the practitioner or sequence of events to evolve that will facilitate the liberation from the injury.
Practitioners in Integral Health must embody the mind-body-spirit approach to affect true healing in consciousness, emancipating the person from the attachment to the initial stressor(s). The most powerful practitioners are the ones who get the most out of the way. That is, they add none of their own experiences or biases to their modality, but rather allow the non-personal, non-dual subtle energies to both flow through them and to flourish in the patient.
My own work on the chakras and my theory of dominant chakra disposition has rendered insights to the people I work with to access and dissolve these root causations for PTSI. That is my chosen modality as an energy medicine subtle energy practitioner. This modality, through the chakras, accesses all four archetypes of the “Whole Human Being,” (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual).
In effect, because I like any practitioner gets out of the way, the non-dual, non-personal energies flow through me to facilitate the person’s root resolution, in this case to dissolve the attachment to the PTSI. That is, the person is basically just healing themselves and I am only an instrument, a conduit.
True healing in Functional Medicine and PTSI must include the consciousness of the spiritual essence of the whole human being at the level of causation.
