Expanded Horizons
In my last Blog “Depth Perception,” I wrote how we may perceive more deeply in to the seeing things as they are, rather than being hypnotized by the elements of our five-sense perception. That ability of our physical senses (vibration sense perception [.5 to 500 Hz] is the first physical sensation we experience in the womb.
The five senses come online; hearing , touch, sight, smell, and taste. If you think about it, our depth perception of reality depends on our five sense perceptions. All of them are set to receive input: your eyes are waiting for photons of light to stimulate the rods and cones, your eardrums waiting for a sonic vibration to send signals to the brain, your tongue waiting for that savory taste, and so on.
This is why understanding that depth perception is increased with spiritual practices: looking beyond the physical to the realms of the non-physical, beyond the limit of time and space. Nobel laureates have said that at the fundamental basis of all matter, there is no solidity, only vibrating energy.
With deeper understanding of the subtle energy realms (beyond time and space), you can “see what cannot be seen” with the physical eyes. This is what the Integral Health practitioner is trained to do – to work with the subtle energies that power the biofield and the body.
But there is more to it than that – there is the level of consciousness that is beyond an intellectual understanding, and the way you develop that is through some form of spiritual training and engaging in developing the muscle of faith in your intuitive faculties.
This is the expanded horizon of the self; a greater awareness of all that is beyond conceptual understanding, towards a true inner realization. And no one can do it for you. Deep experiencers would call it a Divine inner revelatory experience, where the horizon of your inner vision keeps expanding.
Ironically, astronomers have postulated that the universe is not of fixed size; that it is expanding ever-outward and that we cannot yet see the limits of our universe.
Developing a sense of an expanded horizon is what happens in your consciousness, not just your physical body or your intellectual understanding. Albert Einstein said that imagination is more important than knowledge. This is because the higher realms (we experience the physical dimension of time and space, though in the Vedas are writings about “The Three Yoga Bodies,” the physical dimension, the astral dimension and the causal dimension).
These higher dimensions are accessed by accomplished integral health practitioners who have expanded their inner horizons so they may observe the subtle energy patterns in their patients. It is the same process that I teach my student practitioners in Integrative Chakra Therapy®, an eighteen level, 3 year course in energy medicine and energy psychology.
Expanded horizons in consciousness are within all of us at all times, for we live in a oneness with no separation. In order to truly grow and self-empower, three things are necessary: 1 some form of spiritual practice or rigor to awaken the chakras, 2 a strong moral and ethical character, and 3 faith. Without faith, it is almost impossible to grow to expanded horizons of consciousness.
To expand your horizons is an inner journey of the soul; a sacred path you walk for your self-empowerment and self-realization.
